ABOUT JOHN

Picture of John Taylor - Architect

I am a Glasgow based independent architect who undertakes all types of architectural work across central Scotland. The majority of my work is domestic house extensions and alterations however I can design bespoke new-build houses taking you from initial discussions to completion.

I also provide advice and services to property developers and commercial clients for small scale commercial and retail developments, drawing on my previous experience in a Glasgow practice working on, and managing, jobs ranging in value from £100,000 to £12m.

Regardless of the scale of your project I always welcome enquiries to discuss your aspirations for a building or site – usually I begin by taking your call to establish the scope of services you require; this is then followed by a no-obligation site visit to meet you and see / survey your property. I then write up a design brief and appointment document that sets out the full scope of works, and fees required, before agreeing to proceed.

All architects in the UK require to be registered with the Architects Registration Board. By using an architect a client can be assured that they are dealing with someone appropriately qualified, experienced and insured. I can be found on the architects register if you visit arb.org.uk where you will also find useful and helpful information about appointing and working with an architect.
